Alex: Seriously, guys, this is getting old--oh, and that’s getting old, too. I see you’re less mare-shaped this week.

Loki: I was a male pony! I think. Why were you looking?!

Alex: Ew. I didn’t have to look, everybody knows about that. How’s Sleipnir? Still got eight hooves?

Loki: I will murder you in your sleep and regret not a single thing, sweet Ares-son.

Alex: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’ve heard it all before. Let’s get on with this, I have sleeping until noon to get back to.

Good morning, Fandom! Rilla Blythe here, and it's a beautiful spring day outside, just perfect for picnicking!

*chittering*

The squirrels say that if you want to picnic without getting nuts tossed at you, please pack an extra sandwich for them.

*slight pause*

Right then, onto the news. Summer classes have begun! Mr. Maccorieghan--there's a name that sounds a bit like home--began his class on Cryptozoology, which certainly doesn't sound like home. It doesn't even sound like a real word, frankly. Mr. Maccorieghan explained that the class is the study of things that don't exist--dragons and unicorns and such--and everyone did their introductions. Mr. Deadpool and Mr. Skywalker's class on childcare was a bit more hands-on. We had a tea party, then had to watch a terrible program with a singing dinosaur, get squirted by boxes of juice, play with dolls, and then get absolutely covered in glitter during a craft project. I'm still finding glitter on me. Miss Pie's Adventures in History class learned about the Boston Tea Party...which included a real tea party and outfits from the 1770s. I don't think that's quite how it--

*chittering*

Oh, good, Miss Thompson told Miss Pie that's not how the Boston Tea Party worked. Miss Pie assured her she'd just made it better, but then asked Miss Thompson to join Miss Cara as a TA for the course.

Miss [Kennedy's last name] was on the 'phone with friends in her new office and discovered that she couldn't use foul language yesterday.

*sniff*

You shouldn't use it anyway. It's undignified and crass.

In the dormitories, Mr. Drake was called upon by Miss Jones and--

*rustling papers*

--and apparently then the squirrels wandered off. That's not terribly professional. Mr. Abagnale was in the third floor common room trying to catch up on 21st Century television programmes. Mr. McGinnis came in and he and Mr. Abagnale talked about the difference in television in their respective time periods--Mr. McGinnis is from the future and Mr. Abagnale is from the 1960s--and Miss Rapunzel checked to see how Mr. McGinnis was settling in before trying to figure out what a "Spongebob" was with Mr. Abagnale. I learned that Mr. McGinnis knows Mr. Wayne along with him being from the future, and I told Mr. Abagnale a bit about Canada.

In town, Miss Electoclash was also upset to learn she couldn't use her sailor's vocabulary yesterday, Miss Cullen tidied Coyote Medicine, and Miss Maclay untidied the magical shop before Miss [Kennedy's last name] stopped by to talk about how strange it was that she was teaching a course now. Miss Mancini cleaned Nast's Sporting Goods--we were a tidy group yesterday, apparently--and Miss Frost realized that not being able to use foul language also extended to wording on...things that she sells at that store I would never go into.

And that's all the notes I have! Have a good weekend, Fandom. And remember, even if you can swear again today, don't.

So, short radio today, cool? Cool.

SCHOOL

Nothing. Obviously. The picnic is today. Just seeing if you were paying attention.

DORMS

Dolf was in his room, getting ready to leave. So was Lion-O. Karla was too, and Ender came by to teach Karla how to pack and talk about Ben's dad. Probably unrelated to the packing. Gabrielle wanted to make sure Karla wasn't sneaking off or whatever, whatever that means, and Warren was all grouchy because Karla was avoiding him. Don't worry, Warren, it's not so bad.

Annie was getting ready to leave too, and Rilla and her kid came by to talk about how they have to visit each other. Rilla and Annie. Not Rilla and the kid. And then Gabrielle came over and she and Annie talked about how hunting apartments isn't like hunting for deer. Which sounds pretty accurate.

TOWN

Ben was leaving voicemails at Stark Industries. They were really awesome voicemails. 'May the fourth be with you.' Get it? Anyway Ender didn't think they were funny. Lame.

Toby had food or whatever at Goodvalor's, and Kenzi and Karla talked over at that gross store where Kenzi works.

Alex Cabot was getting ready to leave at her place, which apparently had something to do with some guy who did something and she was all upset about it. Okay.

Alistair and Max both left from the Causeway, but separately, and Max got accosted by a whole bunch of people and had to promise Cassidy he would keep in touch. Okaaay. Also he sat with Millie for a little bit, and then said goodbye to Karla and Cindy. And then Hercules left from there too, and Sarah was really jealous and kind of sulked at him. You know you can leave too, right? Bobby said bye too, and so did Cindy and Karla, who took the opportunity to brag about her awesome summer plans or whatever. And Warren made sure Hercules was going to keep in touch. So... cool.

Aaaand Gabrielle read some medical magazines at the clinic.

The end. I'm gonna go get tacos. Bye.

Good morning, Fandom. No one else is allowed to leave today. I've just decided that.

*chittering*

Of course I can do that.

Since we don't have classes this week, I don't have any notes on that! We'll skip straight to the dormitories, where Miss Fabray was cleaning out her room. Miss Edison came by and they talked about how friendship changes when you move schools and how they wouldn't have been friends anywhere else. That's rather sweet. Mr. Andrew Wiggin called to say farewell, as did Miss [Kenzi's last name], and I was there as well, lamenting how most of my friends are leaving this summer.

*chittering*

I did not wail about it. I'm determined to be a heroine. Mr. Wayland was cleaning his room when Miss Adams stopped over to say she was moving in with her --

*sniff*

Well that isn't appropriate. Mr. Wayland told her it would end in tears and of course it will. Something about cows and milk for free, no doubt. Miss Donovan enjoyed the view from the roof one final time, and she and Miss Scully talked about how utterly terrifying it is to have your entire life stretching before you. Lady Karla also took her leave from her first school-assigned sibling. Let's be overly generous and assume that Lady Karla was polite about it.

In town, Miss Lass and Mr. Venture both took their leave via the causeway, Miss...Electroclash...returned from a trip home with some more belongings, Miss Maclay was pensive as she rearranged shelves at the magical store, and Mr. Murdoch was quite occupied by a new computer game he's discovered at Stark Industries.

Finally at Caritas, Miss [Kenzi's last name] was serving superhero-themed drinks to Mr. Hercules, who is returning to his home dimension, and to Mr. Logan, where they planned a lovely date of going to the cinema and--

*looooong pause*

stealing things. Well then. This is Rilla Blythe signing off. Please don't steal things. It's immoral and illegal.

Good morning, everyone! I hope you're all enjoying your last week of freedom before the new folks arrive and classes start again. Not that summer workshops are hard, usually, but... oh, you know what I mean. Let's see what those of you who are still here got up to yesterday.

Things were still quiet at the school, of course. At the dorms, Bruce finished packing up his stuff and got ready to leave town. Cara came to say goodbye - well, she said she came to see if he was all right after fighting at graduation, but Bruce got a hug out of her, so it was totally a goodbye. Ender wasn't surprised that Bruce wasn't sticking around for the summer, but Bruce promised Lucrezia that he'd come back to visit when appropriate, so this wouldn't be the last time she'd see him. Annie also got a goodbye hug out of Bruce, and Stephanie talked to Bruce about the time he'd be spending in New York before going back to Gotham. Rilla promised to send Bruce pictures of Jims, and Ben made sure to stop by once Ender told him Bruce was leaving right away. Daenerys was also packing up to go home; Rilla was really sad about it, but Daenerys explained that she needed to go and help her people, and she assured Lucrezia that she'll be coming back as soon as she can. And up in the dorm observatory, Jeremy set up one last date for himself and George before she left, awwwww.

In town, Britta was knitting and complaining about being a capitalist slave at Turtle and Canary, and Quinn had her last shift at The Arms Hotel, so there was cake to celebrate. Alice had her first shift at Coyote Medicine, and I got to deal with a lack of air conditioning at the clinic. Try to avoid getting sick until it gets fixed, if you can.

Those are all the scribbles the squirrels handed to me, so it's time for me to head out and re-caffeinate myself. Bye!

[info]fates_jaye
It's Wednesday again, and this is Jaye. Again. And this is where I'd normally say it's been a great semester, vote me back next time, but... Come on. I'll be back.

Nothing doing in School, since everyone took the week off, seeing as how we actually have a week off. And in the dorms it was mostly moving. Jacob was moving out, as in leaving with Quinn coming by to talk about future plans and they mutually decided not to become adults. Take it from me, don't do it. It sucks and there are taxes and other people trying to hold you accountable for stuff. Just skip adulthood. Mercy and Jacob talked about graduation before she asked where he's going, and Caroline ended up helping him pack. She must have really wanted him out of there.

Meanwhile Sam LaCroix and Natalie were just moving in together, with her not being happy with how much stuff she has. Should have had Caroline pack for you. And then Tara stopped by to see how the move was coming. And to gloat because she didn't have to do it. Okay, I added that last part myself. She probably didn't do that, but she should have.

And then in town, Troy was doing paperwork at the Boards. And in case you were wondering, yes, there is paperwork involved in everything. And in the park, Sam Puckett threw a costume party. Because why not. It came complete with food, dancing, games and people. Topher tried to reject a hamburger hat but Sam threatened him with girl cooties and that was that. The fact that that works after second grade is kind of impressive. Toby missed that there was a party, but he joined in with a puffy astronaut helmet. See, this is why you should all take my class this summer.

On on that note, bye!

And a good morning to you, Fandom Island! This is Ronan Nolan with the news of yesterday today, back for your usual Tuesday broadcast. Looks like this might be the last quiet week for a while, so enjoy it while it lasts -- unless you like it busy and loud, in which case you don't have long to wait for things to pick up!

At any rate, over at the school, the office was... very, very orange, with the blame placed firmly at the elk's antlers, while in the dorms, Quinn sent out an invitation to her birthday party. Wesley was packing his stuff before heading off, now that he's graduated; Kenzi had sweets for him in thanks for his shooting lessons, Alex got teased about the state of the room -- trust me, dorm rooms are supposed to be messy, I promise -- and Quinn, who wanted to know if he was coming to the aforementioned party, realises that he's heading off, so instead they talk about what they expected out of Fandom before they got here. Oh, and over in the second floor common room, Butters was watching television.

In town... )

Happy almost new semester! Now's that time when we put out the call for radio help! We're always looking for new talent, so if you've got a character who would like to be the weekly voice of the radio for the summer (or someone who wouldn't like it but you want to force them into it anyway), this would be the place to sign up. Teachers, townies, students, all are welcome!

Beginning Sunday, May 6, anyone who's interested gets their shot at an audition broadcast (meaning that they’ll do a recap for everyone to read that goes up sometime before noon Eastern time the next day (So the Tuesday broadcast covers Monday's news)). You're also free to sign up if you want to do radio just once. And then if you haven't run screaming, we put up a poll at the end of tryouts and from there we get the seven broadcasters for the semester.

You can also sign up here to be a radio squirrel! We always need help in gathering the day's links for the broadcaster to... broadcast, and so if you'd like to be squirrelly, this would be the place.

Still, over at the school, Anakin was in his office doing his final grading when Jaina came by with good news and bad news. And to tease him about procrastination. Hercules was in his office, too, packing up because he's leaving, which makes both me and Bo sad. Saaaad.

And then there's talk of haggis and furry purses, and I'm not sure I actually want to know. Okay, no, I totally do, but it's probably not repeatable on radio.

Over in the dorms, Anna was sitting on the edge of the roof. Loki asked if she was 'in a mood,' which apparently had her going a little scary, but that didn't last long. And, downstairs, Rebecca lamented breaking her headboard -- huh, even I never managed that -- while packing up her room.

Lastly, over in town, William had a very late Easter bunny at Stark Industries, Tara's last shift at a student was filled with tidying at The Magic Box, and, at Caritas, Kenzi had half-price drinks for graduating seniors.

And that's it! You were all boring yesterday, apparently. Ah, well, just wait until the new kids get here!

chloe has news for you
[info]mycanonhatesme
Hey everyone! This is Chloe Sullivan coming to you from the far-more-colorful-than-usual radio station - seriously, is this paint going to wear off, or are we just going to have to get used to it? Anyway, here's what the squirrels managed to catch you all doing yesterday.

Shira was doing some cleaning up at the Magic Box - I wonder if paint got everywhere there too - K-Mart convinced Sean to let her have a job for the summer at Nast Sporting Goods, and I was working very hard at the clinic.

*chittering*

Okay, okay, I was playing games on my computer. I don't have to be honest when it's about me, you know. Bruce hung out in his room and worked on plans for a trip to New York, while most of the rest of the seniors, and other students, went to Six Flags for one last school trip. Everyone gathered up at the causeway, and it turned out that Annie was the most prepared, armed with a map of the park to look at while they waited. She and Quinn talked about their post-graduation plans, while Miley wanted Annie's help in planning what rides to hit. Rilla managed to get Jims into daycare - oh, the things most students don't have to worry about - and Annie told her a little about what to expect at the park, and Kenzi managed to get Toby to come, although he apparently didn't need his arm twisted too much. The wheels on the bus turned round and round and everyone made it to the park safely, where Ben introduced Kenzi to the wonders of funnel cake while waiting on line for a roller coaster. I'm assuming the squirrels were kind and left out the part where they threw up afterwards.

That's all I have for notes, so I'm going to sign off for now. To those who will be graduating this weekend, I just want to say...well, good luck. Just in case.

-you kidding me? Why am I still finding paint?

Oh, hello, Fandom. Jono, Deadpool, you get in here and clean this up oh my god I sound like my mother. Come here, clean this up, and shoot me. It's better for everyone this way.

Anyway, slow day, or else the squirrels were lazy and/or drunk, so this should be the fastest ever.

SCHOOL

Eletroclash wasn't happy to find out she's stuck in Fandom for a while longer, which brought Tyrion in to see if he could help. Buck up, it's like the happiest place on Earth here if you ignore the invasions, gremlins, school board and all the emo!

And that's it because guess who doesn't have school for a couple weeks!

DORMS

Daneedsanewname tried to write a letter home, which she told Chuck about when he stopped by, and she and Loki talked in chatspeak. Oh, don't do that. Never do that. It's bad enough when people type that crap. Topher was playing Tetris on his phone, though Dave thought it was Space... something or other. Billy came for birthday celebration, and Kenzi brought Mountain Dew and booze, so maybe she was trying to get in on the birthday thing.

And... that's it for dorms? Really? Slackers.

*chittering*

Maybe I wasn't talking to you.

TOWN

In town, nothing was happening. Samus was polishing her armor at Turtle and Canary, so she must've been bored. Millie was organizing at the clinic, which just sounds boring. At Caritas, Kitty made Tino clean up the paint that despite the reports I had nothing to do with. And Jaina was back in town, with Littlekin and her catching up, and Eric bringing the present of a uniform. How did we not burn all those?

Anyway, that's it from here. Deadpool, Jono, I mean it.

Good morning, Fandom! Rilla Blythe here, though it's not Friday. The squirrels like to keep us on our toes here at the studio.

*chittering*

Yes, we couldn't do it without you and are quite sorry your contributions couldn't be mentioned last week. Do you feel better now?

*chittering*

Good.

Since it's break week and no one has cancelled graduation yet--which I'm all right with, Mrs. Winchester. I want our seniors to stay!--it was pretty quiet yesterday. There were, obviously, no classes, and Miss Perry was in the her dorm room searching for a new hobby. She's chosen knitting, which is one of my favourite ways to spend time. Mr. LaCroix was sleeping restlessly--I'm not certain I needed to know that--and Miss Adams came by and then they cuddled, which I'm also not certain I needed to know about. Are they engaged?

Miss Raven was meditating in her room when Lady Cassidy threw water at her--that's rude!

*chittering*

I don't think I'm missing the point at all, thank you very much.

In town, Miss Rapunzel was walking barefoot on the beach--you'll catch a chill!--before she and Miss Raven chatted about how they wouldn't have gotten the chance to walk on the beach at home. I'm an expert beach walker--it's one of the advantages of growing up on the shore. But not in a fishing girl way. Mr. Andrew Wiggin and Mr. Ben Skywalker had their weekly luncheon together at Stark Industries and talked about not having classes to attend any longer.

Finally, Mr. Doyle was no where to be seen at Caritas last night.

That's all I have for today! Have a good rest of the week!

*sounds of banging and two different shrieks: one Jims, and one Rilla*

GET OUT, GET OUT, GET OUT!

Hello, Fandom, Rilla Blythe here and so, apparently, are the rudest bunnies I've ever met DON'T CHEW ON THAT--

*static for ten minutes*

Well then. The lizards chew on power lines, just so you know, which makes it very inconvenient to talk on the radio. One second.

*more banging, more wails from Jims*

FINALLY. I seem to be a bit barricaded here in the radio booth, but at least I can get to the news. Why people would choose to retire here is completely beyond me.

Onto classes! Organic Chemistry had its final with Miss Pie today and Mr. Thurston Howell III stopped by to make sure everything was completely normal. Other than the bunnies, you mean? Algebra II had an essay examination about all of the math they learned this term, but not before getting rid of all the gizka; oh, is that what the lizards are called? They sound Japanese. Miss Miller of the school board was disappointed that the math exam didn't have enough math to it, but I'm sure not disappointed enough to tell Mr. Thurston Howell III about it, right? Right? Model United Nations had their exam as well, and Mr. Skywalker was wished a happy birthday by three men with a briefcase. That's...normal! Yes. Totally normal. And Marine Biology also had their exam with board member Mr. Graves stopping in to supervise.

Mrs. Creed-Nast and Miss---I can't pronounce that--sent a text to their class, so if you have them today, check your messages. Miss Jones found bunnies--I AM NOT READING THAT, IT IS GROSS--and Miss [Kenzi's last name] paid a call and they tried to figure a way to make sure our esteemed guests don't get too overwhelmed by our island. It's really much better in small doses. Go home now and come back in three or four years! Lord Lannister chased some of the blue...senior pranks...from his office.

The dormitory was relatively quite, if you don't count the bunnies and the lizards and the blue things. Mr. Peter Wiggin was in his room drinking Red Bull and checking his email before being interrupted by Miss Adams. She wanted to talk to him about one of the school board members and he was unsympathetic, which is not terribly surprising. It is Mr. Peter Wiggin, after all. Mr. Brink stopped in as well and told him that unlike the last....senior prank...he was not poking animals that were strangely coloured. And then Mr. Wiggin--

Um.

Didn't act like himself anymore.

Town was very busy! Miss Scully was prepared to treat any rabbit-related injuries at the clinic, Portalocity again...shows the same manner of customer service we became accustomed to in the fall and delivers a box of gizkas and blue...senior pranks... and Miss West was clearing the pests out of the music store until Miss Pie came by searching for a banjo. Mr. Aaron was defending the meditation center, and Miss Maclay was examining the magic capes and card trick selection at the Magic Shop until Miss Pie came in to buy a tambourine.

Is anyone else a bit worried about what Miss Pie might be up to? Me either! We are all so terribly normal here. And boring. No reason to stay here! The park was almost entirely overrun with the rabbits, gizka, and blue senior pranks, with school board member Mr. Baracus fighting back in the morning, Mr. Skywalker, Mr. Alistair, Mr. Almasy, Mr. Wyndam-Pryce, Miss Cara, Miss Morrigan, Miss Gabrielle, Mr. Gooseman and Mr. Lion-O--it's Italian!--in the afternoon, and Miss Jones, Mr. Carrick and Mr. Wig--a fox in the evening. But they're still here, so I think we need a plan other than whacking at them with hat pins and sharp sticks.

Finally, Miss [Kenzi's last name] was offering fruit juice and commiseration about the uniforms--I think they're lovely!--to Miss Clarke at Caritas.

*more banging*

Well, the rabbits are back and have brought friends, so I might be a bit late to class today, Mr. Oz. If someone could come get me out of the booth, I'd be terribly grateful.

Troy: But Mrs. Evans, I'm not -- this isn't -- there are people who do this! Like, a schedule! We can't just barge in here!

Ronan: Actually, the more, the merrier, I'd say. Mrs. Evans, was it? You're with the school board, yes? Ronan Nolan, I work at the clinic.

Charmed, I'm sure. )

Ronan: And on that note, that was your news of yesterday, today. We hope you enjoy your week.

[info]apocalipped
Good morning, Fandom. Jonothon here, with a small pile of notes that I would like to refer to as, 'what I did at work yesterday, along with a couple of things about other people.' If any of you intrepid squirrel-dodgers have any advice for avoiding their attention in the future, I would rather appreciate it if you'd let me in on your secrets. Sitting down and telling the lot of you what I was up to yesterday is somewhat unnerving, really.

... So I'll start with Cassidy in the library, who was doing some studying on weapons, tactics, and Latin. One of these things isn't quite like the others, I can't help but notice. Do they even have other languages in Kaeleer? Karla gives me a difficult enough time about referring to English as English, rather than Kaeleeran...

Moving on to the dorms, Annie was in her room studying for online classes like any good, industrious student at the end of the school year ought to be, and Caroline finished her Italian course before starting her end of semester packing, to Jacob's dismay. My sympathies, mate. This time of year is bloody depressing.

And then, of course, the town, where I was sitting in the Boards finishing up some paperwork and keeping company with the terrarium of frogs in the lobby. Courtesy of Fandom Fish 'n Bait, I ought to add. They have real quality... frogs.

Actually, these ones were free.

In any case, Miley stopped by to deliver a drink that she enthusiastically referred to as a strawberry... something. I offered her some advice about college as well, but the strawberry something is really the newsworthy bit here. I would like to order it again, but I have no bloody idea what it was really called. Troy came down from upstairs to offer me a bit of advice on my frog-naming conventions, but all of his suggestions were utter shite. Raven stopped by with a muffin, which was an excellent follow-up to my strawberry something, and then offered to stop by my place today to cook for me. And then Rinoa made a visit as well, to pick up the paperwork I'd been doing for her and to talk about some things going on back at her home.

And then, just so that I'm not finishing this broadcast on a note about myself, Kitty was putting up posters around town advertising next Saturday's paintball game. Meet at Caritas after dark, be prepared to find yourself splattered in paint. And at the Devil's Nest, Eric and Tiny were lamenting the absence of Bo's... assets.

Naturally. And that's it for the notes, which were not in the least bit unnerving for me to read, and just to make the squirrels' jobs easier tonight, I'll let you all know right now that I'm planning on spending the rest of my morning and probably a fair chunk of the afternoon trying to chase all cultivating sentient life out of my kitchen. So, have a good rest of the day, Fandom. And you squirrels who are already lining up to follow me out of the building... Naff off.

*Chittering*

Or... hand me one more note. That works, too.

And this one doesn't look ominous or anything. Apparently, our school's esteemed principal, Zoe, would like everyone on the island to meet at the Town Hall as soon as possible for an important meeting that might or might not be an emergency. So, if you would all be so kind...

*Chittering*

Right, I'm on my way. See you at the meeting, folks.

*more chittering*

Don't be ridiculous. Rum is terrible for you.

ANYWAY, It's Rilla Blythe here to give you all of the news from yesterday!

We're in our last week of classes before examnations. How did that happen? Elements of Friendship watched Miss Pie demonstrate a stand-up routine before trying it out themselves, Miss Electroclash conducted a review session for the Superheroes, Life of the Sea watched a movie, and Ethics discussed our obligations to society. Speaking of which, thank you all so much for your generous donations to our fashion show last week. The money will go far in helping the starving Belgians in 1915.

In the dormitories, the fine women of Kappa Delta Gremlin hosted a farewell tea honoring our seniors and I didn't cry at all!

*chittering*

Or much, anyway. Miss Edison and I decided to hold a beach party before the seniors graduate and leave forever, and you're all invited, of course. Even Miss de Glacia. Miss [Kenzi's last name] was in the computer lab teaching Miss Korlov how to use the technology. I still have problems with it, though texting with a phone is quite jolly!

In town, Mr. Murdoch was reading about new Canadian coins---WE HAVE NEW COINS? REALLY?

*chittering*

No, you hush. That's quite exciting! And Miss [Kenzi's last name] was having a two-for-one drink special for Russians. And that's all of the notes I have! I'm off to track down Mr. Murdoch and learn more about the coins! Have a good weekend, Fandom.
